can't get Outlook to sync with iPhone

I had previously been able to sync my iPhone with Outlook, but because of some laptop problems unrelated to iPhone, iTunes, or Outlook, I had to send the laptop back for warranty work. They had to reformat my hard drive, and now, after I've reinstalled iTunes and Outlook, I can't sync my contacts and calendar into Outlook. The iPhone icon does appear on the left hand column of iTunes, so it is being seen. I've already reinstalled iTunes and cleared sync history.

Any thoughts??

Check to make sure the appropriate options in the info tab as shown below are checked. Keep in mind I don't use Windows to sync my iPhone, but the Outlook options should show up on your side:

He said the iPhone isn't even showing up in iTunes, so he's not even seeing those options.
