Yes! This is one of the greatest parts of the update IMHO.

I'm also interested in the interpretation of apps making use of these new API's by Apple. Funny thing is, some of the most successful apps on other platforms are ones that replace (i.e. through enhancement) built in functionality. Think Pocket Informant on PPC or (my favorite) DateBk on Palm. That flexibility makes a platform much more rich, IMHO.
