Transfering photos from iPhone

Hey, peeps. So I'm trying to transfer photos from my camera roll into my (Windows) laptop. I'm noticing that instead of photos I'm seeing the photo names and some weird files. I'm sure it's a simple explanation that I'm not doing something very obvious.

You can do this several ways , email them to yourself , sync through itunes to your picture folders on your PC , or your iphone will be seen as a digital camera in windows XP . Just connect your iphone (dont have itunes open ) it should bring up an explore folder and then just copy off the pictures that you want .
