Iphone sync problem

My OS is Windows XP. I was syncing my Iphone contacts and calendar (thru Outlook) by merely connecting to a USB port. It synced thru Itunes automatically. My hard drive crashed and I put in new one. Now I get message when I connect "Microsoft Office Document Scanning does not support this type of device". Thre is no "Iphone" showing in the Itunes sidebar.

that means it's not loading the drivers for the iphone.

try uninstalling itunes, rebooting and reinstalling it.

I removed program, rebooted and installed it again. Still get same message: "Microsoft Office Document Scanning does not support this type of device".
