iPhone restore help

Okay. Here's my current situation. I was in an accident today and my car was totaled. I took pictures and everything on my phone and then it went all crazy just now so I had to restore factory settings. Is there any possible way to get back all the pictures I just lost? I know that sounds pretty impossible when you wipe everything clean. But I read somewhere that when you delete something off an Apple product its not completely lost. Any help and comments are welcomed. In regards to the accident, both parties had minimal injuries.

I honestly do not see this possible at all. Obviously if they were backed up, or synced to the computer than yes. But as for recovering the photos no. I think iPhone hardrives are like flash drives, mean there would be no way to restore like a traditional hardrive.
