Going to American Samoa

I am going to American Samoa in Sept., Does anyone know if my phone will work or should I just leave it home?

I have no idea if you will have 3G service there. If not, I would say it depends on the availability of wifi hotspots there. I was using my iPhone here in the UK (until it broke) without any phone service. It was still a wonderful pocket computer, allowing me to connect to wifi and do everything except talk on the phone. The skype function is great if you have wifi access and skype users on the other end.

And don't forget to deactivate 3G so you won't be charged for roaming.

It will work but you will have to worry about international long distance and data according to AT&T website
