How To Share A Ringtone With A BlackBerry

I have a ringtone that a friend but she has a BlackBerry . I emailed it to her but the phone does not recognize it as a ringtone. What do I have to do to the file to allow her phone to use the ringtone??

i am guessing I have to convert it to an MP3? itunes will not let me do it.

Hmm I'll try changing the file ext to m4a then put it into garage band and see if it will convert it for me

you'll have to make it an mp3 as you said. an easy way is to go to Audiko - create your own free mobile and iPhone ringtones and upload it, then just create it as an mp3 and download it back.

I found a way to do this using garage band. I copied it to my desktop, changed the ext to m4a(not sure if necessary), opened garage band and created a new project, dragged the ringtone from my desktop into garage band, made sure that Itunes was set to import as mp3, then back in garage band I chose to export to itunes and there it was in my itunes music library as an mp3! Emailed it to my friend and now I wait to find out if her BB will recognize it!

Garage band is amazing. I have had a Bold and an iPhone. For iPhone use the "share as ringtone option" for a BB, click "share song".
