Still working on tethering

I haven't figured out how to tether yet. But I'm still working on it. I've found a few postings on it, but no step by step.

1. Go to tp://www.benm.at ON your iPhone
2. Go to Tethering & Internet Setting Click on Mobileconfigs
3. Pick your Country
4. Pick your carrier
5. Install
6. Setting>Network>Turn on tethering.

Does this work only for jailbroken/unlocked iPhones or for all iPhones? I have a new 3GS and have wanted to tether for a while. Thanks!

So the only issue is if a carrier, in my case AT&T, finds out I am tethering and violates the contract? Thanks again for responding.

Yes if they find out you are tethering they can charge you.

Sorry, last question, I promise...

-When I install this, will future iPhone OS updates affect this program (i.e., when 3.1 comes out, can I install it on my 3GS or is there a concern?)?
