    Default problems with back ups

Everytime I back up my phone it overwrites the one thats stored. so I changed the name of the back up and it overwrites it and the name gets changed. I though when you change the name of your iPhone and back it up it creates a new back up... well it doesn't work in my iTunes anymore. thought updating to 8.2.1 would fix this but it didn't.

This may be a silly question but why wouldn't you want to overwrite the previous backup? If I kept every backup I've made I'd need a dedicated hard drive to store it.

Well, it would be nice to have individual backups so that if a problem came up you could go back to different backups and try to find when the problem showed up. I know this would be useful for someone like me who likes to try to find out the who, what, when, where and why of problems, but for the general populous it's likely not too useful.
