Can i get notifications for my windows live?

my school email is through windows live and i just purchased an iphone. i did some research and got my windows live on my phone but it does not notify me when i get a new message..
I would appreciate any help
this is make or break for my iphone, if this is not due able i will have to do a force switch to BB...

Are you talking Windows Live email or Windows Live messenger?

He's talking about email.

And I don't think there is a way to get push through windows live. You can setup fetch intervals.

I have Hotmail as my email on my 3G and it does fetch, I thought it pushed, but it still notifies with a badge and a sound when it has new emails.

You can also fetch your email manually by opening the mail app and choosing the inbox that you want to check (If you have multiple setup). The phone then checks for mail and returns it, if there is any.

I have mine set for hourly fetch intervals, just to save on a little battery.
