oops. how do you reset the 3gs. tried to unlock and now cant turn it on..

What do you mean by reset? Did you mean pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake (power) button at the same time until the device shuts down and powers back up or did you mean something entirely different like how to restore the device?

i'm thinking 1usarmy meant unlock as in jailbreak? and he needs to do a restore now to fix things. a restore via iTunes should resolve this problem. then you can attempt another JB. there are plenty of threads here on TiPb discussing JB of 3GS.
