Darkening Of Screen

Hi All, I am new to this forum but i beleive that there are lot of experts here. I hv recently Jb'ed and unlocked a 3G i phone, it is working perfectly fine, but barring one issue. The screen becomes dark after some time when a call is going on (both incoming and outgoing), even tapping on the screen does not help. The only way to bring it back is to lock keypad via on/off switch and then unlock keypad again.

Any clues as to why this could be happening.

I don't know the first thing about jaibreaking. But... On a normal iPhone. If you go to settings >>brightness>>auto on/off. You can turn it off and set the vightness to whatever you desire. This may decrease your battery if you like to have the screen very bright.
