GPS in 1st gen iPhone?

Downloaded 3.0 and in maps now I get a blue pin instead of the blue circle thingy. But there's a small circle around the pin and it doesn't move real time.

So did apple just add a new look to the original circle thingy?

it's trying to detect your location as accurate as possible and Apple added this UI tweak so you could think it knows where you are more than it really does. :/

Even before, if you tried to do Google Maps directions from your current location, it would assume you were in the very center of the blue circle it had previously shown you, and drop your starting pin there. I'm betting this is just a slight tweak of that. The 3G's GPS does the same thing: it shows the blue dot (where it thinks you are) in the middle of the blue circle (the area where you could be).
