Mail sent from aol won't work

My grandpa always sends me emails from his aol account and now everytime he sends one a message reads:

This message cannot beread because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again in a different format or from a different email program. Multipart/mixed

Or something close to that. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it??
