Weird things on screen

There are two little things that have popped up on my screen a day ago that I can't make go away. One is on the Mail icon and the other is on the phone icon. I've tried changing themes but that didn't make a difference. Has anyone seen this before?

Isn't that the Backgrounder Jailbreak App showing you those apps are running in the background?

Weird, 4th time someone's asked about that this week. Big increase in Backgrounder usage?

They've never shown that before if it's the backgrounder. I'm gonna remove backgrounder and see if they symbols go away.
