Email reply does not work.... help

Hi, I am new to the iphone but quite capable setting up most phones myself. I need to get my main email address up and working. I searched and found one similar topic but not really much help.

On Edge, I can recieve my emails and not reply, message is "invalid address"
On wifi at home I can send and recieve but whats the use in that. I am using a jailbroken 2g phone with a outlook email pop3 address.

And remember, I'll need step by step instructions please...

Is it perhaps that your provider does not allow mail relaying and can only work when on your home network? Have you tried a different email provider for sending?
