When to expect the new iPhone???

I was wanting to update my iPhone and was wondering if anyone has seen any release dates, rumors, suspicion, or when they are guessing? When is their annual release dates?

I still get a kick out of how the version of spell check says iPhone is spelt wrong. LOL must be the most misspelled word. Or maybe LOL is.

I probably won't change my iPhone (3G 16 GB) just update to 3.0 when it's released. Of course, unless there are incredible wholesale changes in the phone(such as HD screen. 3.0 or greater MP carmera, only iPhone to allow background apps..etc)
