broken or not?

I'm new here, but i really need help. I dropped my iphone 4G (1st G) and the LCD screen break into many piece and the screen turn into black. I can't touch the screen or power on off, but it let me to connect it to my PC via itunes. looks like the hardware still working, but i can't see or do anything on the screen. need advice from u guys.

Does your iPhone still in warranty? I think you should sent it to the Apple Store.

no, my warranty was expire, so any help? such as send it to repair service, or any better suggestion?

my friend broke his screen and took it to some little repair shop and they replaced the screen for $100

I would say go to apple and see if they will let you buy a new one with out a contract, or let you with a new contract.
