Wayport now AT&T - free wifi???

Hey everyone,

I haven't been in a wayport enabled airport recently to test this out. I was wondering if AT&T is offering free wifi for iphone users at the wayport locations yet since their purchase of wayport. (I believe it was supposed to be finished by the end of 2008).

It would be nice to be able to use free att wifi on my iphone in all the hotels and airports that use wayport (press release said some 20,000 locations).

Has anyone tried this yet or heard anything? I did a quick search on the forums and didn't see anything.

No word on free wifi servie although it really should - this would off load sizable traffic from their busy 3G network, and the customer get faster service. Seems a win-win to me.

Yes, that is what I was thinking part of the reason for that purchase was. Offloading the current and future data hungry mobile devices off of their 3G network.

Granted I have seen plenty of people using wayport in the airports at the daily rate so their must be some nice revenues from that too.
