    Default Are iPhones coming preloaded with 2.1?

    So if one buys the iPhone this weekend, will it come loaded with the 2.1 update? If not, when do you think it will?

    I bought one on Thursday and it didn't even have 2.02 on it. I would say it will be weeks before they have 2.1. Good news is Thursday night I upgraded to 2.02 and Friday I upgraded to 2.1. It all worked perfectly.

    We bought another one last night (9/15/2008) and it had 2.02 preloaded.

    It probably won't come pre-loaded with 2.1 for another week or 2, maybe more.

    why is this a concern? Trust me, you'll be putting on a new patch soon enough no matter when you buy it. Doing restores, etc.

    True, it shouldn't be a concern. Every iPhone I've bought has never been up to date in terms of firmware when I've bought them.
