The Edge icon is different now. :)
Still browsing for other new things.

NO MORE LAG FOR CONTACTS OR TEXTING! WOOO.

It could just be my head thinking the update did something, but I think I'm getting better service here now.

iTunes 8 now shows how much space Apps are taking up, like Music and Videos.

Can't find this text message alert thing. Maybe it's just set as that as default now?

Updating Apps from iTunes is SO much faster.
I'll try out installing stuff over the air and updating directly from my iPhone to see how much that has improved later today too.

I guess if you manually manage music the Genius feature will not show up (for me at least) so here's what I did:

In iTunes, click on a song and then the Genius button.

Click on "Save Playlist" at the top of the list of songs. This will create a playlist in your "playlists" section of iTunes.

Drag the newly created playlist up to your iPhone. It'll create a Genius playlist on your iPhone but more importantly the Genius function now appears to work on the iPhone itself.

Thanks to the Apple Discussion Forums. :)

The 3G icon is different as well. I have 5 bars at home! Yay!

This might be polish, but I like it... :)

THIS is what Apple should have launched 2.0 with.

I wouldn't know, no 3G in Maine. :p

I actually found this interesting:
"I talked with a local ATT rep today who said that by late Fall 2008 Portland (Maine's largest city) should have ATT 3G up and running and that sometime next year Bangor (Maine's second largest city) should have 3G."

My college is in Bangor and this would be epic!

3g is coming. Great thing about new 3g towers is that they will be upgraded to 3.6 already and more than likely have the 850mhz.

I'm fine with edge for now, I'm in no hurry to check my email or Digg. And most everywhere I go there's at least one wireless point. So in the small amount of time between my dorm and class, edge is fine.

Does your Safari still crash often after the upgrade? Mine does at least once a day and I open multiple sites (haven't upgraded yet, will do it over the weekend).

I've only loaded a few pages and no crashes for me.

anyone see a improvement in battery life

Haven't had a real chance to test the batter life yet, I will be later on in the day though and post what I found.
