Useing Apple's application queston?

I have the old iphone and I am trying to put some of the new applications on it. I downloaded Itunes 7.7 (the new version) and a few apps. When I sync my iphone to Itunes the apps stay on my computer. Any idea how to get these new apps on my phone.

Also my pone is jail broken if that matters...

First, you need to upgrade to Software 2.0.
