Does your mobile carrier depict whether facebook notifications work on your phone?

I am not receiving facebook inbox messages as a banner notification! I used to only receive it when someone would leave me a message from their device. Now it isnt working at all

I have spent hours troubleshooting, and I am starting to think that it is because my phone is factory unlocked and because I have Virgin mobile ..My friend is with Bell and she gets them fine... AHHHHHH!!!!

Anyone??? I know I have a similar post..but this post is asking if it could be because I am factory unlocked...or could certain carriers effect push notifications from certain apps?

Carrier really shouldn't have an effect on the notifications? Are you only connected to your carrier or do you have WiFi enabled as well? I ask because some routers can block notifications.

Have you tried going into settings>notifications>facebook? click banners. make sure view in lock screen is turned on.Then go to settings> facebook ad see if the push notifications are turned on for messages.

Yeah I changed my firewall on my lynksys router, didnt matter. I also just finished talking to Apple and he said that the carrier wouldnt make a difference, also he said the fact that my phone is unlocked doesnt make a difference either.

He said my phone is not showing up over there factory unlocked...but I know my phone is unlocked, which is why I am able to put different sim cards in there. Very weird. Well I am just gonna give up.
Maybe there might be a software update tomorrow!

It is because the Facebook app is absolute crap.

You also should check the settings via your actual facebook page and see if you have mobile turned on. It is not a device issue more like app/setting issue

And what do you mean??? Where would I find that? I thought that was only if u wanted notifications via sms???

Everything is ON. I am very tech savvy. I have turned them on and off again several times..reinstalled the app, deleted it and reinstalled it through itunes. Restored phone. Set up as new iPhone. Changed firewall settings in router. Changed network settings to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, and more. LOL

If your talking about Facebook pm messages only? mine doesn't ither I actually use fb messenger for that it's a separate app but handle messages well and displays messages on the banner

Yeah thats what I am talking about...lol...I have the facebook messenger app too...I figured its better than nothing. Works great. Also which phone do you have and iOS? Also which carrier are u from?
