Default 3G Bars Must be Cosmetic....

Sure, I'm getting 5 bar strength wherever I go, but...

.... the actual speed on 3G is slow, slow. How slow?

Ran a test using testmyiphone DOT com - , my results:

.18 Mbps
You are .89 times faster than EDGE.

I tried resetting i.e. "power off", but the issue remains.

My call to Rogers lasted 40 minutes. We ran through all the obvious resets, etc. Then the tech checked his iPhone, and he was receiving poor 3G strength as well.

He told me to call back tomorrow if the problem persists.

Anyone else?

I am having no problems with 3G at all. My bars seem to be telling the truth.

Hm, maybe it is a Rogers issue.

Mine tested fine:

Download

You are: 6.95 times faster than EDGE.

Upload
0.08 Mbps
You are: 1.8 times faster than EDGE.

So. Cal. AT&T.

Hmm. I just tested mine on all 5 bars. It shows 1.72 faster than edge which is pretty good. I'm with AT&T in southern Cali. I've seen some posts though with people who think those bars are cosmetic though.
