Hi guys,

New here, but not to iPhone. I just fried my laptop, which I used to sync my iPhone with. I have all my data on an external hd. Now that I'm without a computer, I'm wondering if there's a way to manage the iPhone on public computers if I've got everything I need on an external hd. Im also wondering what "everything I need" might be (aside, of course, from my media library).

Ideally I'd be able to take the hard drive from the public library computers, to a friends desktop pc, to my work computer, or any other windows based computer, with the ability to sync my iPhone on all of these computers.

Can iTunes be launched from an external hard drive?

I'm not interested in cloud solutions, but I'm open to creative ideas.

The easiest way would be to have your external hard disk or a usb thumb drive be a bootable Ubuntu drive. That way you can just use wine to install iTunes and basically carry your OS around with you to plug into someone elses PC.

Can't think of any easier solution than this really.
