iPhone 3G screen went white

My iPhone screen has gone completely blank. I have 3.1.2 OS installed and it's jailbroken.

It was working fine all day and then on my way home from work it rang but the screen was a total blank, almost like having the flashlight app turned on. I slide my finger across to answer and it worked just fine but it just stays a blank screen.

Pluggiing into computer and trying to get iTunes to recognize it isn't working either. My computer sees it but iTunes doesn't.

What the hell do I do next?

Put iphone into DFU mode and received error message from iTunes stating that phone cannot be restored.......unknown device error

Did you try plugging it in and holding the lock and home button for a couple seconds?

Yeah. That's how I put it into DFU mode.
