iphone 3g not syncing

as of last week my iphone 3g wouldnt sync with itunes. can anyone help me to sove this problem? its really annoying because a i have alot of music i want to transfer.. the computer charges the iphone but it does not appear on itunes

What kind of computer? Have you tried shutting down the computer and then restart? Also try restarting the phone if those don't jumpstart iTunes. Try reinstalling iTunes. Give us some more details.

You need to determine what's at fault here. The computer or the phone. If possible, hook up your phone to a separate computer to see if any computer will recognize it....a second computer at home or friend's perhaps. We can troubleshoot further once we figure out which device is at fault.

see my situtation is that my iphone sync's but it gets stuck on the "backing up iphone" screen on itunes...anyone???

Sometimes the back up portion of the sync takes a long time especially if you have not synced in a while.
