I have a 3 year old MacBook Air and used it occasionally but I want to get an iPad with a keyboard to replace it. Any suggestions? I've been eyeing the iPad Pro 9.7 inch. Any feedback?

The iPad Pro is a great choice. Although I recommend getting a rMBP instead, you'll get more out of it compared to an iPad.

The iPad is a great device, very powerful indeed but it does not replace a laptop by any means.

If you have decided to not get a rMBP, head over to a nearby Apple store and check out the 12.9" iPP

Incredible battery life, great display and speakers, and is a beast!!

I would definitely opt for the 12.9" iPad over the 9.7" ? the bigger screen is great, particularly for running two apps side-by-side. It can replace your laptop, but only if you don't require any software that is Mac-only. In other words, if your computing needs are fairly basic, it's a great choice.
