how do i get my ipad off of airplane mode?

i enabled airplane mode when charging my ipad and have done this many times, but this last time, it has become stuck on airplane mode. even after enabling wifi, the airplane icon remains displayed in the upper left corner. i tried resetting network settings, but that did not work.

Welcome to iMore! Try resetting your device by holding the power button and home button down simultaneously until you see the Apple boot logo. If Airplane Mode is still showing as enabled try disabling it again in Settings.
