I forgot my password for my I-pad how do I recover this

Cannot log into my I-pad as I cannot remember the password

The only way in is to restore it back to stock. You need a computer with iTunes installed on it. You will need to put the device in DFU mode then restore it back to stock.

To put the device in DFU mode, make sure its connected to the PC then press and hold the sleep/awake button and the home button for 10 seconds, then release the sleep/awake button but continue to hold the home button for another 10 seconds. If you did it right you should get a pop up in iTunes that the device is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.
