Ipad 2 displays 'can't download item'

The message pops up and I think the problem started when downloading free music.

does it show what song it is? can you delete it from iTunes so it doesnt look for it?

This sounds like that "unable to download item, please try again later " error message bug that has been plaguing many iOS devices, including the iPhone 6 since iOS 8 was installed. I have it, too. It was thought at one time to be caused by the U2 album that was given by Apple as an unwelcome gift. Even when the album was deleted it was thought that the iBook that accompanied it was still there trying to download. But because the error message doesn't really say what it is unable to download it's difficult to fix. You might be able to do a search on google for a fix suggested by The Internet Police. I haven't tried it yet, but many say it works... It involves downloading some program and then deleting files associated with this error message. Good luck. I'm curious to see if iOS nine is going to finally fix it first before I go to the trouble involved.
