So, you're a Manager/Leader, and often in meetings.

What device, if any, do you use to take notes, etc.?
I've been in more and more meetings, and writing notes on a pad, and then transferring that 'scribble' to my computer is pointless.

I'm thinking of getting an iPad Pro, with Apple Keyboard for work. But, that's also just another device to update, and manage.

    Looking for ideas...

I'd recommend the 9.7 iPad Pro with the Logitech Create keyboard case. I have the 256gb with the cellular radio. It's awesome!

I agree with getting the 9.7" iPad Pro, but for many people, the onscreen keyboard is sufficient. Also, the Pencil might be a good investment in this regard also.

I've used an iPad and Logitech bluetooth keyboard quite successfully! In the past I used my old iPad 2. I now have an iPad Air 2.

I use my iPad (Air 2) with a stylus and hand write notes in meetings. I actually have a Brydge keyboard so I pull the iPad out so it lay flat, but I still have the option to type on an external keyboard if I want to. I'm sure it looks funny, I keep the iPad in between myself and the keyboard when I do this. My coworkers are used to it by now, but I imagine I get looks from others!

I second the iPad Pro 9.7 + Logitech Create combo. Apple Pencil is also useful for quick sketches.

How often would you say you charge the keyboard? Thanks

The killer app on the iPad, in my opinion, is Notability, because it allows you to record audio that is synced to your typed or handwritten notes. You can record entire meetings, lectures, presentations, etc. Later, you can merely touch anywhere in the notes you took during the event to hear the audio from that portion of the event.

I don't use it all the time, so I can't say for sure, but not very often!!!

Agreed. Notability has been my app of choice, although Good Notes has been tempting me with its handwriting OCR for export and search!

I just bought Good Notes based on your post and wow! The OCR is great! And multilingual. Thanks for the recommendation.

If you get the Create keyboard there is no charging! It plugs into the smart dock on the side of the iPad Pro!

I bought a Logitech K380 keyboard and I used it for my iPad Air 2 and then my iPad Pro 9.7. Haven’t charged it since I bought it a year ago! Thanks to the off switch. Now I use the Create keyboard and never have to think about charging

As a big Notability supporter I don't know how well I should like this!

I'm glad that it works for you. I'm still in note app purgatory trying to decide what to do!

The baby pro is awesome, and get the pencil. I type or handwrite notes all the time, the pencil and any note app make it a breeze to edit later on.

I use the baby Pro and an Apple Pencil to take notes in meetings. The app I prefer is Goodnotes. I used to use a keyboard but I found that often others would be distracted by the sound and/or think that I was following up on emails during the meeting and not paying attention. With the pencil, no one minds and it's no different than a sheet of paper.

An iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil would be excellent for note taking using the app called Notability. It has many features including the ability to write on pretty much any file type, it can record audio while you write notes, and you can create really professional looking notes. The other app which seems to be quite popular is called Good Notes.

This is exactly why I bought the Apple Pencil. I also have a surface pro 4 and I LOVE the surface pen.
I think having the ability to hand write your notes digitally during a meeting is much less distracting then clacking away at the keys on a keyboard. I used to use my surface pro 4 all of the time because of its handwriting to text recognition software is top notch, but after buying an iPad Pro the SP4 seems so much heavier to lug around. I really wished that Apple would include handwriting to text recognition in iOS. Samsung is able to do it with the note series, which also works amazingly well. So it can be added to a mobile platform. If Apple were to do that then I'd most likely never use any other device ever again.

Interesting for sure. One thing that can help with this is that at least Goodnotes allows you to search your handwritten notes without converting to text.

Pen and paper unfortunately. Due to the sensitivity around our data we can't use personal devices for anything and the force have more important things to worry about than buying iPad just for us to take electronic notes
