Web browser default to desktop view

Is there a way to make the browser on the tablet that can replace a pc to default to the desktop view for all sites instead of having to request it every time?

Sure can, use a different browser that supports selection of a custom "User Agent", for example Mercury. Just select something like "Safari (MAC OSX)" and that should do the trick.
