Did Apple permanently HALT production of the iPad Mini to make way for the iPad Mini 2?

That's what I'm starting to think based on evidence.

None available in store or for order on Best Buy or Wal Mart.

Limit of 2 iPad Minis per customer on Apple's website. (Probable to get rid of inventory)

Rumors of iPhone 6 and iOS 7 announcement in March.

And not a peep from any other source of what's really going on.

Someone say something here.

They're recovering from Christmas... supply constrained... they'll catch up.

If the wanted to clear stock why make a limit of 2? And it's Christmas time so many were bought, they are just trying to catch stock back up. Stores around me have plenty so maybe it's just your area with low stock. Plus what would a new OS and new iphone have any factor on the ipad mini?

It's a hot product. That's why it's not in stock in many places.

Like others have said, the iphone 6 has nothing to do with the ipad as they are made in different factory (still foxconn but not in the same building). BTW iPhone 6 will be announced in September.

It has been 2 month since the ipad mini have launched. I highly doubt that Apple will release the ipad mini 2 just few months after the first one. I'm pretty sure Apple will stick the iPad Mini as the Fall cycle.
