Did Apple permanently HALT production of the iPad Mini to make way for the iPad Mini 2?

If the wanted to clear stock why make a limit of 2? And it's Christmas time so many were bought, they are just trying to catch stock back up. Stores around me have plenty so maybe it's just your area with low stock. Plus what would a new OS and new iphone have any factor on the ipad mini?

It's a hot product. That's why it's not in stock in many places.

Like others have said, the iphone 6 has nothing to do with the ipad as they are made in different factory (still foxconn but not in the same building). BTW iPhone 6 will be announced in September.

It has been 2 month since the ipad mini have launched. I highly doubt that Apple will release the ipad mini 2 just few months after the first one. I'm pretty sure Apple will stick the iPad Mini as the Fall cycle.
