Steve jobs quote on 7" tablets

What did steve jobs mean by "unless your tablet also includes sandpaper, so that the user can sand down their fingers to around one quarter of the present size" when talking about 7inch tablets in 2010? I've seen tho quote so many times but didnt really get it.

He meant that you cannot take the same screen resolution that's on the current iPad and make the screen 3 inches smaller. The buttons would be too small for the typical fingertip size to make reliable contact.
