Not receiving texts on my iPad

I have a iPad MiniR (Verizon model) and had been getting all of my text messages that went to my iPhone on it.
But now only iMessages are coming through.

I think my settings got changed and I don't know what I did.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

You can only receive iMessages on your iPad. Not SMS.

Using the native Messages app? I didn't think receiving SMS messages was possible on the iPad using the native Messages app.

I didn't think it was possible at all. Are there apps that will allow me to get SMS messages that come to my phone on my iPad? I'm speaking of non-iMessage ones....

Install VZ Messages from the Appstore and enter your mobile phone number that you want to receive SMS. I use this to connect to friends and family that don't have Apple products. SMS sent through VZ Messages will not show in iMessages but the reply will. Have fun.
