Okay so I know this may be beating a dead horse but I'm curious, does the 4 run as warm as the 3? I would prefer not to have a device run hot in my hand. So I ask you guys/girls, do you notice any difference if you've upgraded from the 3 to the 4?

I don’t know about the iPad 4th gen, but my 3rd gen iPad does not run hot at all... in fact, it’s barely even warm. #justsaying

Thanks fausty. I guess because ive spent a bit of time using the 2 and 3, I know how cool the 2 ran. Was kind of hoping this would be addressed in the 4.

But again this is just based on my own experience.

I haven't played any games yet but in regular use it hasn't been warm.

I just got my first iPad yesterday (4th generation) and it has definitely been running warm when doing intensive applications. I streamed Netflix, watched a few HD videos on YouTube, and browsed for like 3 hours before it started getting warm. As soon as I started doing some iMovie stuff, it started to get pretty hot. If you are doing application intensive things, it will definitely get warm, but even after I was browsing for like six or seven hours, the heat definitely ramped up a bit.

I haven't noticed any heat issues so far. I played a movie that I had loaded from iTunes for a couple of hours and it didn't even get warm. So far so good.

Mine gets hotter than my 3 does, enough to feel it through the screen instead of just on the back like on my 3
