So attempted an iPad 3 digitizer replacement last night... Attempted. Long story short power was on, the ribbon cable moved to the LCD, the image came on then went away and never came back. Did I short out something ? I have electronics repair experience replacing caps and such, am I capable of a repair(even after ing this up)?

Ipad 3 is only seven months old so still under warranty, why not have apple replace it for the peace of mind? I'm just wondering. To answer your question though, can you test power going to the LCD? I assume you have a multimeter considering you have electronic repairs?

I did something similar Tom with the power on as I couldn't get it to shut off due to the screen being so shattered. Did your logic / memory fry or was it just the LCD? I also have electronic experience.
