Default Is it better to update via iTunes or OTA.

Or does it not make any difference?

I only ask because on the release, Rene said: "Let us know if you're updating OTA, or doing a clean install over iTunes".

What does he mean by a clean install?

If you update via OTA, it doesn't clear your phone and reinstall everything. Updating via iTunes and then restoring from a backup clears everything and starts you back fresh.

I recommend using iTunes and just making sure you have a current backup stored in iCloud and on iTunes. If you want to take the quick and easy route, just use OTA. You shouldn't notice too much of a difference if you have a newer device. But if you have an iPhone 4, updating via iTunes will speed up your phone a good bit.
