"Other" tab in iTunes sync getting larger

I have a new iPad and have noticed when I sync to my MacBook Pro the tab at the bottom "Other" is getting bigger and bigger. It is now at 2.9 GB. I have looked online and can't find an answer, it seems lots of people are asking about it as well. Plea someone, help me before I have to buy another iPad just for space.

Partly it depends on what you keep on your device: the Other section can hold everything from Messages data/videos and contact info to notes and app data. (And if you jailbreak, you'll almost certainly end up using more Other capacity for jb apps.)

If you think it shouldn't be that high, you could try one of these fixes:

If those don't help, you may be forced to restore from a backup to see if that has any effect. Good luck!
