Default Man is this thing heavy

Anyone else surprised by how much heavier the new iPad feels in hand versus the iPad 2?

No doubt the new iPad is appreciably better in almost every way, but I don't know, the form factor is going to take a little getting used to.

I was surprised. I need to get it in a case ASAP before it slips outta my hands!

Yeah, I did notice that! Normally I have a SmartCover on my iPad 2, which makes it feel pretty dense/heavy, but the new iPad almost has the same feeling of weight, sans the Smart Cover.

I still have the original iPad so it seems lighter to me. *Kanye shrug*

    Lmao? Seriously?

That aside, I don't know, maybe it's actual weight distribution, but it is very noticeable, as the above posters (and everyone in my office who's handled it) can attest to.

I can't over emphasize how great everything else seems about the device (display and camera, specificially), but part of me is already looking forward to next year's iPad, which will likely slim back down to iPad 2 levels.

Or grow but with much improved battery life... if Northwest gets their battery improvements to market sooner than expected with a little Apple love.

I can tell the size difference if I am to be honest but I feel more than compensated for the device maintaining a 10 hr battery life. I'm all smiles
