My iPad 2 won't download iOS 10 says 9.3.5 is all I get.

I wouldn't avise to upgrade to iOs 10 even given the chance. My ipad became utterly slow like 2 updates ago... Even my 2011 MacBook pro became barely unusable since El Capitan. I guess it you want to remain up to date (software wise) you might have to invest in newer hardware. Otherwise don't go further with updates 2 years after purchase. Just my thoughts.

The iPad 2 from 2011 only has 512 MB of RAM and the Apple A5 processor. It is just not powerful enough for iOS 10. My 2009 MacBook Pro runs fine with El Capitan with 4 GB of RAM.

Cool. Did you do anything special like replacing the hard drive of formatting it before installing El Capitan? Thanks!
