how to change previous owners id info to update apps

Purchased ipad 2.0 from a friend but am unable to update apps. Have already changed apple ID but when trying to update apps it requests the previous owners password. How can that be fixed?

The existing applications on the iPad was downloaded using the previous owner Apple ID, what you need to do is to delete the existing applications and reinstall them using your Apple ID.

Welcome to iMore! I suggest restoring the iPad and starting fresh. Even if you change the Apple ID you're still going to run into issues, like apps registered to his Apple ID.

Another vote for this. Just deleting apps could leave other info from the previous owner. Restore as new makes it all yours
