The wifi slider on my iPad 2 will not slide to the on position, how can I get this working again?

The wifi slider on my ipad 2 will not slide to the on position

My wifi drops out quite a bit due to the usage on the DSL line
I can usually re-connect by shutting the WiFi slider in settings to off and after 20 seconds or so slide it back on.
Sometimes it takes longer but now it won't slide back on at all.

I tried a reset using the on/off button and the center bottom button held down together and that worked but now that won't work either

Try resetting the network settings. Settings - General - Reset - "Reset Network Settings".

If resetting your network settings didn't help then restore and set up your iphone as new.
