Why is personal hotspot feature available on the Pad but not iPhone?

Hi all,

Why does Apple not support personal hotspot on the iPad (with 3G) like you can on the iPhone?

Why would you want to ? I guess is the biggest reason ? If your 3G on your iPad you'd certainly be on your iPhone

Everyday I learn something new about my iPhone 4S
I had no idea the phone had a hot spot feature.

The new iPads will support this on Verizon (not sure about AT&T). If you are paying for a data plan on the iPad, you can turn on the mobile hotspot and share that data with other devices.
