Dark Spots appearing on the bottom and top of the screen.

Hey guys, need a little assistance. I am writing from Islamabad, Pakistan. I recently bought an iPad 2 from a store here in the city. We dont have an Apple Store here. As of late, I have started noticing dark spots on the top and bottom of the iPad screen. Is this normal? Or do I have a defected unit on me? I'll appreciate your professional advise. Thank you.
