Updated and now stuck...
I plugged in to sync this past weekend and was prompted for the most recent iOS update...
So I picked download and install...
Once the download and install were done, I received an error and advised that the device had to be restored. However, since that error, iTunes no longer sees my iPad so I cannot even try to restore a thing. I have tried uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and a dozen reboots. Also tried a different sync cable, to no avail. The laptop shows the mobile device in Device Manager, but it never appears in iTunes.
So I have a useless brick right now and cannot find any guidance on Google or elsewhere.
Laptop is Win 7 Ultimate 64, OG iPad. Never had an issue with a sync or update.

Do you remember what os you had and what it was updating too ? Also was it jailbroke? You can google it but try putting into recovery mode and restore that way if you haven't jailbroke it I would take to apple to replace ? Also does iTunes see any other device like say iPhone ? Or maybe try hooking iPad to another computer with iTunes to see if it's detected just some thoughts
