Bought a used iPad

I bought a used iPad from someone. I brought it home and set it up with my itunes account. I was wondering how I could check to make sure that it is registered to me and if not how I could get that it fixed.

That apple sees that it is my device. Just in case I needed to send it in for a repair or something.

Unless it's a Verizon 3G model, there's no way to track an owner.

It won't matter. It seems apple warranty is tied to the device, I was able to swap a phone under warranty that I bought on ebay. Got the original owner information on the repair receipt, which could be a concern for people that like to hide name address and email.

Also according to the applecare agreement it can be transfered to a new name but only if the previous owner submits it. What I gather from that is the paperwork in name is transfered, but they honor the repair of the device to anyone because again the warranty/applecare follows the device.
