I use Box for some things. I have 50 gb of storage there. I even have my contacts in a CSV file on an email account.

I don't use iTunes at all. So iCloud for me.
My photos, music, and apps are already in the cloud.
Gmail syncs my contacts, and calendar.
So in theory, both back ups are useless, since everything is already backed up elsewhere.
I leave iCloud back up enabled, so I don't hurt Apples feelings. 😃

iCloud all the way. It's so much more convenient because I don't have to worry about it. If anything goes wrong I know I'll always have a recent backup ready.

iCloud is the way to go, unfortunately 5 GB (free) is useless today. Between my iphone and ipad it takes all. I hope apple can release more space and match box 50 GB.

I rarely use iTunes and I really prefer the convenience of iCloud. I broke down and upgraded to more storage last year before iOS 7 was released.

icloud back ups. They are automatic and don't require any effort as it happens when you charge your device. It's very convenient.

thank you for the reminder, Ledsteplin
50 GB in box, 55 GB at Mediafire and 5.88 GB dropbox.
Since I bought my iPhone 4S second hand, no iCloud for me, yet. iTunes is answer of the aforementioned choices.

iCloud is there but really everything I have is "cloud" based (email is IMAP, Evernote) plus I have almost everything (now 1 TB of space) on Dropbox.

My 16 GB iPad is on T-Mobile, and there's thousands of Optimum hotspots around me so connectivity and space are never an issue.

I use both. ICloud is set to backup automatically, so that means iTunes won't backup unless I force it. When I'm doing a restore though, I always go through iTunes backup. It's just a better and quicker experience for me.
