I've been having battery problems on my iPad Air 2 since upgrading to iOS 9.3. So I decided to
erase and restore the iPad. When I was finished restoring iOS mail was missing the "Trash" folder.

When I try to move EMAILs to "Trash" I receive an error stating the EMAILs can't be moved to the folder.
My EMAIL provider is Verizon. If I try to create the folder I receive another error stating the folder can't be
created on the server.

Any Ideas?

Missing "Trash" folder in iOS Mail

Have you looked in Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendar > your email> account > Advanced> select "deleted mailbox".

Also, make sure trash on the phone is also trash on the server.

Verizon mail may not allow adding folders. You might check with Verizon support.

When you are finished, tap DONE in the top right corner here:

At "Advanced" I have "Deleted Mailbox" checked. it was checked. After that none of the screen shots you posted are present.
I see you have GMAIL. As I stated in my post I have Verizon as my EMAIL host. My cell provider is ATT.

I was able to create the "Trash" mailbox though. Rather than creating it in the "Mailbox" - "Edit" screen, I went to an EMAIL and hit the "Trash Can" icon at the top and the "Trash" mailbox was created.

Yeah, they vary from provider to provider. They don't all offer the same stuff. I have Verizon phone service, but never had their email. Glad you got it going.

Inside the mail app, go to your list of inboxes. Then tap "edit" at the top. You'll have a choice to show or hide different parts of your mail, including the "trash" folder.
